Single glass partition walls:

Single glass partition walls are preferred because they are more economical and easier to install.

They are usually manufactured as 10 mm “tempered glass”.

Since it is single glass, there is no “jalousie” option. Instead, it can be covered with a strip film up to 130-140 cm, leaving a 30-40 cm gap from the bottom. It is also possible to apply this in different sizes and shapes.

If the installation is desired to be accelerated and travel expenses are taken into consideration, first the profiles are laid in accordance with the project and the “door frames” are placed in their places in the system in accordance with the project. Glass measurements are taken and ordered. When the glass arrives from the glass factory, it is installed in its place.

If the glasses are used as 4+4 or 5+5 “non-tempered laminated”, the installation can be completed immediately except for the door glass. Only the “door glass” is expected.

In single-glazed systems, different options can be obtained with glass quality. For example, sound insulation can be provided by using “acoustic laminated” glass. Although not as much as double-glazed, sound insulation up to 38 DB is possible. If quality is desired in glass, Extra Clear glass can be used.

When acoustic glass is used, if the partition wall is installed on a “raised floor”, a 10 cm wide rockwool filled sound barrier should be created under the floor and at the same time, a rockwool filled sound barrier should be created up to the ceiling in the places above the partition walls.

In this case, it would be beneficial to manufacture the glass doors as “double glazed structural”.

When you want to create an acoustic system, you need to take additional precautions on “glass doors”, put sound insulation wicks on the door frames and install sound barriers under the doors.

The point to be considered in all “partition walls” is the “accessory brand” selection. There are companies that have a say in this matter in the world. By using the “handles, locks and hinges” of these brands, malfunctions are minimized; thus, the necessity of service due to accessory malfunctions can be eliminated.

Apart from these issues, our architects may request that the aluminum profiles be painted with “electrostatic powder paint” in various colors to be compatible with other units in the decoration.

At this point, if you ask yourself, after spending so much money and making our choices carefully, is this the right thing to do? We have to think.

It is recommended to perform acoustic calculations for the entire system.

When acoustic calculations are made for partition walls, you can get rid of unnecessary thickness.

In addition, in double glazed systems, the glass thicknesses may not be equal as a result of the calculation (8 mm + 6 mm).

In fact, depending on the calculation result; you may need to use 4+4, 5+5, 6+6 mm Laminated glass in some offices.

These glasses can be manufactured as Tempered or Grinded. In addition, specially manufactured Acoustic Laminated glasses can be used for the same thicknesses.
